Tired-looking eyes?
Real medical answers in Urmston.
You catch your reflection and think, I look more tired than I feel. If that thought has crossed your mind, you’re in the right place. A 30–45 minute medical consultation in my Urmston clinic, led by a fully qualified GP — clarity not pressure, real plans, honest advice.
If this sounds familiar
“People say I look tired. I’m not. I just look it.”
Patients across Trafford and the Urmston area regularly tell me the same thing: their face doesn’t match how they feel. Heavy lids. Hollows under the eyes. Dark shadows that don’t lift, however much they sleep. The good news is most of these signs respond well to thoughtful, properly-assessed medical treatment — not to more concealer or another “eye cream”.
What's actually going on
Why your eyes look tired even when you’re not.
The eye area is one of the first places ageing and lifestyle show. The skin around the eye is significantly thinner than elsewhere on the face, and it sits over a complex anatomy of fat compartments, ligaments, and circulation. When any of those shift, even slightly, the result reads as “tired”.
There are usually three or four things going on at once: volume loss in the tear-trough creates the hollow shadow under the eye; thinning skin makes blood vessels show through as a bluish discolouration; pigmentation deepens the perceived darkness; and fluid retention can puff or settle unevenly across the day. Sleep, stress, allergies, hormones, and screen time all play a role.
This is why a single product or a one-off treatment rarely solves the issue. The real answer comes from understanding which of those factors is contributing most to your appearance — and addressing that one specifically, rather than treating the area generically.
“Patients often arrive thinking they need filler. Sometimes they do. More often they need a polynucleotide course, or a skin booster, or simply a different sleep position and a tear-trough assessment. The job of the consultation is to find out which.”
Treatments available
What may help — depending on the assessment.
Tired-looking eyes are rarely solved by a single treatment. Most plans combine two or three of the following, sequenced over weeks or months. Final selection happens in the consultation, where the dominant cause is identified.
i.
Polynucleotides for the under-eye area (Plinest Eye)
A specialised polynucleotide formulation for the thin, sensitive under-eye skin. Stimulates cellular regeneration, improves skin quality and elasticity, and reduces the bluish-purple discolouration caused by thinning. Especially useful when the concern is more about texture and shadow than volume.

ii.
Tear-trough fillers (HA-based dermal filler)
For genuine volume loss in the tear-trough area — the hollow that creates the deep shadow under the eye — a small, carefully placed quantity of hyaluronic acid filler can lift the area back to its earlier contour. This is a precision treatment that requires anatomical assessment; not every “tired eye” is a tear-trough case.

iii.
Skin boosters for the eye area
Sunekos Performa — a skin booster developed specifically for the delicate under-eye area — combines amino acids with hyaluronic acid to improve hydration, fine crepiness and elasticity where the skin is at its thinnest. Often paired with polynucleotides as part of a staged treatment plan over a course of 2–3 sessions.

iv.
Eye-area microneedling with active serums
For pigmentation-driven darkness or fine crepiness around the eyes, microneedling with brightening or peptide-based serums can improve tone and texture. A gentler option than other resurfacing approaches, with minimal downtime.
