Want your lips done — properly?
Subtle, medical, never overfilled.
You know the look you don’t want. If the thing holding you back from lip enhancement is the fear of looking obviously “done”, you’re exactly the patient I want to see. A 30–45 minute medical consultation in my Altrincham clinic, led by a fully qualified GP — anatomical assessment, honest advice, and a result that still looks like you.
If this sounds familiar
“I’d like a bit more definition — but I’m terrified of looking overfilled.”
It’s the single most common thing patients say to me about lips. They don’t want a transformation — they want a subtle, balanced version of their own mouth. They’ve seen the overdone results on other people and quietly decided lip enhancement “isn’t for them”. Almost always, the problem was never the treatment. It was the volume, the product choice, and the absence of a proper anatomical plan.
What natural actually means
Why most “bad lips” are an over-treatment problem.
Lips change with age the same way the rest of the face does — the border softens, the philtral columns flatten, the corners turn down slightly, and the overall shape loses a little of its earlier definition. None of that requires dramatic correction. What it requires is a precise reading of your anatomy: where the support has been lost, and where it has not.
The reason so many results look artificial is rarely the filler itself. It’s too much product, placed to chase a trend rather than restore a proportion; the wrong areas treated, ignoring the lip’s relationship to the chin, nose and smile; and no plan for the border, so the lip widens instead of defining. A natural result is almost always a more conservative one — built gradually, reviewed, and stopped at the right point.
Because the products used are hyaluronic‑acid based, they are not permanent and, in most cases, can be adjusted or dissolved. That reversibility is part of why a measured, assessment‑first approach is the safe one: we can always add a little more later. We can’t un‑see an overfilled lip without intervention.
“The patients I’m proudest of are the ones whose friends can’t tell they’ve had anything done — they just look well. Sometimes the most honest thing I can say in a lip consultation is ‘you need less than you think’, or ‘not yet’.”
What may help
Options — chosen for your anatomy, not a trend.
Natural lip enhancement is rarely “just filler”. The right plan depends on whether the issue is lost volume, a softened border, perioral lines, or simply a lip that turns down at rest. Final selection happens in the consultation, once the dominant factor is identified.
i.
HA dermal lip filler — structure before volume
A small, precisely placed quantity of hyaluronic‑acid filler used to restore definition to the border and gentle support to the body of the lip — not to inflate it. Reversible, CE‑marked product, built conservatively over one or, if needed, two appointments rather than all at once.

ii.
Lip flip with anti‑wrinkle treatment
For patients who want a touch more upper‑lip show without adding any volume at all, a few precisely placed units relax the muscle so the upper lip rolls slightly outward. A subtle option on its own, or a refinement alongside filler — often the right starting point for the volume‑wary.

iii.
Perioral & lip‑line refinement
When the concern is the fine vertical lines above the lip or a softened, crinkled border rather than volume, a combination of skin‑quality work around the mouth and careful border definition treats the area that actually reads as ageing — without making the lip bigger.

iv.
Assessment first — sometimes the answer is “not yet”
A genuine part of this consultation is identifying when lip treatment isn’t the right move — because the proportion sits elsewhere on the face, because expectations need an honest conversation first, or because the timing is wrong. You will never be sold a lip you don’t need. That clarity is the treatment, and it costs nothing to hear it.

Personalised plan
A written plan with options, a conservative volume strategy, timeline, costs and realistic expectations — including the option of no treatment if that’s the honest answer.

The treatment in detail
How facial-balance treatment works.
Lip enhancement sits within doctor-led facial rejuvenation — the same conservative, anatomical philosophy applied across the lower face. If you’d like the clinical detail before booking, the treatment page covers it.
Other concerns
Lips are part of a bigger picture.
A natural lip result often depends on what’s happening around it — the chin, the perioral skin, overall facial balance. If you’ve noticed other things too, the consultation can address them together, with one coordinated plan.
